Lovely Pathways

Felt like Gretel being coaxed to take this route but instead of sweets I am lured to take a leisurely walk and follow wherever the beautiful plants take me.

Walking becomes such a pleasure down pathways bounded on each side with lush flora. Not overly manicured, or styled is perfect for me.

Flowers on the Table

Yes, they are fake. But they sure make the dinner table more inviting. Having fresh flowers on the table everyday, or anywhere in the house for that matter, is certainly a luxury I dream of having. That is why it is the smart Bed and Breakfast owners who maintain flowering plants in their property so that they can have these nice touches whenever.

If I had the money to burn, I certainly would include fresh flowers on the budget. And why not? Every day is a God-given day.

Color My World Pink

Coral Vine growing wild along the steps to the miraculous twin wells

Desert Rose in a gas station

Just got back from a most heart-warming vacation with family and friends. It was a reunion of sorts after a couple of years of not getting together. The kids are all grown up. Some have just joined the workforce. Others are in college, some in high school. They talk and dress differently now. While we adults have noticeable white hair now and need to have our blood pressure checked every so often. And yes, conversation seems to veer towards our health.

I came home nourished in soul because of the warmth of friendship that never wavered. Reconnecting the strands of our lives was easy, like we just missed a day. It is a blessing to find ourselves kept in the hearts of each other no matter the paths we have taken, the time that has elapsed... the good, the bad, the funny memories evoked.

The snapshots I took of the Coral Vine and the Desert Rose this holiday represent just what I have brought home with me in mind and spirit.
The color pink, created by combining white and red, is the color most often associated with girls, especially babies. In 1597, Shakespeare used the word pink to describe a feeling. "In the pink" is a phrase that means feeling good and doing well.    - www.ehow.com

Cassia, Golden Showers

It is not cloudy, and there is no chance of meatballs either. Only Golden Showers happening in our neighborhood these days. This tree is almost bereft of leaves. In their stead it graces us with pendulous yellow flowers and legumy seed pods that hang vertically like icicle lights during Christmas.

How they worship the sun!

Thinking of Debutantes & Graduates

Am just so happy how these photos turned out. My son (who is graduating from college tomorrow) and i were on some errand late in the morning. It was scorching hot and light from the sun was harsh, as you can imagine. So when we chanced upon this random shrub by the roadside i asked him to shield the subject of my camera's eyes with his umbrella. Then i clicked away.

Looking at the flowers reminds me of that wonderful feeling of accomplishment parents feel (or long to feel) when the kids they raised turn out well. Your kid reaches legal age and you release them to the world, hoping that they blossom and thrive.

Good Job, Harbor Point!

On a very quick stop over for some necessary items that work day out of town, we dashed to this new shopping mall in Subic. Upon entry we noticed a big vase of flowers sitting on the concierge's desk. What a lovely touch! I truly appreciate establishments that focus on integrating nature, respecting the environment, and show its patrons some TLC.
